OVHcloud accelerates its quantum R&D and strengthen its Quantum Platform at France Quantum 2026

2026
Press Release

Roubaix – June 16th 2026 – OVHcloud, the European Cloud leader and co-founding member of France Quantum, is today taking part in the fifth edition of the event. With over 1,500 attendees and 60 speakers, France Quantum 2026 hosts European quantum computing specialists for a day of conferences and talks on the latest technological advances and their use cases. Octave Klaba, founder and CEO OVHcloud, will be on stage to discuss the quantum ecosystem progresses and announce OVHcloud developments.

OVHcloud and Welinq to work on tomorrow’s datacenters
As part of its research and development initiatives, OVHcloud has begun a collaboration with Welinq to define the future of datacenters. This collaboration is aimed at interconnecting and orchestrating quantum computers’ networking technologies based on different types of qubits.

Designed to help in the scaling of quantum technologies, Welinq’s solution allows the creation of homogeneous or heterogeneous clusters of quantum computers with classical resources. This research approach supports the flexible allocation of compute workloads to the optimal platforms depending on the use case and the evolution of quantum technologies.

“The future of quantum computing is not only a matter of raw power but also depends on their ability to be networked and orchestrated within computing infrastructures. We are proud to see OVHcloud amongst the first players to deploy this new generation of technologies and contribute with us to emerging future quantum datacenters” said Tom Darras, CEO and co-founder Welinq.

“For OVHcloud, a European pioneer of quantum computing, innovation plays a key role. We are delighted to work with Welinq to leap ahead by designing the datacenters of tomorrow to the benefit of the European quantum computing ecosystem” said Miroslaw Klaba, Research & Development Director for OVHcloud.

Quobly first quantum computer to join OVHcloud Quantum Platform in late 2026
Announced during the OVHcloud Summit 2025, the OVHcloud Quantum Platform offers a “as-a-service” consumption mode for its QPUs. It helps to make the technology more widely accessible for public and private organisations. With the Pasqal QPU and Belenos from Quandela, the Quantum Plaftorm will offer the quantum technology developed by Quobly.

Based on spin qubits on silicon, Quobly’s technology leverages conventional semi-conductor industrial standards, using 300mm FD-SOI wafers. This approach aims to industrialize quantum compute while maintaining compatibility with existing compute infrastructures.

“Our goal is to make quantum computing available for users in their usual compute environments. By joining the OVHcloud Quantum Platform, we are preparing the arrival of new simulation capacities and hybrid compute that will allow researchers and industrial players to explore applications that, up until now, were out of reach for conventional architectures” said Maud Vinet, CEO and co-founder Quobly.

Expected for late 2026, the first commercially available Quobly quantum computer, Alloy Pioneer, is designed and developed in France and will be available on the OVHcloud’s sovereign cloud as a world-first.
