Created in 1999, OVH has 700 employees working at its only site located in Roubaix - its head office in Northern France, and 1,200 employees worldwide. Roubaix is where it all started for OVH who has become one of the major players in webhosting and cloud computing in Europe, and the third largest in the world. With points of presence in already 16 countries, OVH wants to go faster and become stronger by increasing its activities by four times in the next five years. By 2020, 1,500 employees will be working in Roubaix and on the new campus inaugurated today. Close to 200 hundred of them have already moved into their new office.

Today marks a major step in our development ” announced Laurent Allard, the company’s CEO. “ Two hundred people will join our head office each year, in addition to the recruitment we are expecting to do elsewhere in France and internationally ”. So it is on this new campus in Roubaix that the company is consolidating its international headquarters. Among other initiatives, OVH is strengthening its training center, created just a year ago: this is where all OVH employees regularly come for technical, managerial, or methodological training. The expansion of this new campus will also enable the implementation of a FrenchTech business accelerator and research labs, which will both give OVH the opportunity to expand its own ecosystem. Built in record time (6 months) on an industrial site near the company’s headquarters in Roubaix, the Campus will occupy an area of 96,000 sq.ft.

In attendance at the inauguration of the first building, Emmanuel Macron was very pleased with the OVH’s success, who was able to “ face the risks of starting a business ” and is today “ a model of the new industrial France ”.
