OVHcloud Accelerates on its SecNumCloud Strategy with SecNumCloud 3.2 Qualification on Three Distinct Datacenters

2024
Press Release

Roubaix – January 9th 2024 – OVHcloud, the European Cloud leader, today announces the opening of a new zone dedicated to SecNumCloud products and located in the Group’s Datacenter in Gravelines, France. Designed to host the Group SecNumCloud certified Hosted Private Cloud solution, this zone complements Roubaix and Strasbourg existing zones.

OVHcloud Private Cloud solutions now have the SecNumCloud 3.2 qualification delivered by the French Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI). The Group has renewed its SecNumCloud qualification, which stands as the highest standard of security and data protection against advanced cyberattacks for clients in need of a trusted cloud, evidence of both OVHcloud’s progress to its vision and the solid growth of the global sovereign Cloud market.

Offering the highest standards in data protection

For many industries and administrations, the cloud is now central, serving as a vehicle for innovation. As it hosts an unprecedented breadth of data types, including personal data ranging from financial statements, income data, health data, business intelligence, intellectual property to backups and so on, the need for a trusted cloud has never been so critical.

OVHcloud has always promoted a trusted, transparent and secure cloud offering the highest levels of data protection and has invested in certifications such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, C5 in Germany, ENS in Spain and AGID in Italy. As for sensitive verticals like healthcare, the Group has long offered services granting the HDS (Health Data Hosting) certification.

The Group, always at the forefront in this area, continues to provide its customers with services that are fully protected against foreign (non-EU) access through a complete region leveraging three distinct sites hosting Private Cloud SecNumCloud certified products, all benefiting from OVHcloud owned and operated Datacenters.

Answering customers growing needs for a trusted Cloud

The growing SecNumCloud estate addresses the needs of both public administrations and private organisations, especially in domains such as finance and banking, health and cybersecurity, to protect cloud data and cloud services. With a total of over 80 customers using OVHcloud SecNumCloud qualified Private Cloud solutions, the Group is in a unique position to help organisations and institutions alike in modernizing their IT in compliance with the Cloud at the Center doctrine. Established in 2021 and specified in the summer 2023, France’s Cloud at the Center strategy requires that administrations perform hosting of personal data as well as sensitive data on a SecNumCloud qualified Cloud.

“Our long-standing commitment to the SecNumCloud qualification cannot be better illustrated than with the opening of a third Datacenter hosting our SecNumCloud solutions. Additionally, we are extremely proud to renew our qualification with the SecNumCloud 3.2 standard. Our massive investments are a vibrant testimony of this continued support aiming at offering a trusted cloud for our ecosystem, our customers, both public and private, guaranteeing the highest data protection standards for organizations and citizens against extraterritorial laws.” said Michel Paulin, CEO OVHcloud.

An ambitious SecNumCloud roadmap

Adding to the new Datacenter and the renewed SecNumCloud 3.2 qualification, the Group is accelerating on its SecNumCloud roadmap with an upcoming Bare Metal offer. OVHcloud also plans to further extend the SecNumCloud qualification to the breadth of its 40 products in its Public Cloud portfolio including Kubernetes, databases, Data Platform and the most recent AI Solutions.

At a European level, OVHcloud is actively laying the groundwork for the coming European Union Certification Scheme (EUCS) certification, offering the same level of transparency and high protection against extraterritorial laws to cloud users.

Data protection meets Sustainability

OVHcloud SecNumCloud solutions are not only providing the highest level of security and data protection, they also benefit from the Group’s well-known commitments towards sustainability, thanks to its environmentally friendly datacenters. OVHcloud datacenters take advantage of the Group’s unique industrial model with a watercooling system that contributes to a sustainable Cloud with best-in-class PUE/WUE indexes (see more data here).
