Founder Institute Montreal Showcases Leading-Edge Tech at Startup Demo Day Powered by OVH DLP Canada
The Founder Institute , the world's premier launch-stage accelerator program, and OVH Digital Launch Pad , the startup support program of global hyper-scale cloud provider OVH, are announcing a partnership aimed to showcase leading-edge technologies coming from promising Montreal startup graduates of the Founder Institute in 2018. In celebration of this partnership, the Montreal Founder Institute will be hosting a Demo Day powered by OVH DLP, in collaboration with Fasken Martineau, Richter, and Futurpreneur.
Based in Silicon Valley but with chapters across the globe, the Founder Institute launch-stage accelerator program provides the structure, mentor support, and global network of entrepreneurs needed to start an enduring company. Founder Institute Graduate companies include fast-rising startups across 6 continents like Udemy, Realty Mogul, Itembase, goplaceit, Appota, and many more.
In addition to this event, the Founder Institute and OVH will join forces to support the graduates from Founder Institute Montreal with a $5,000 cash prize awarded to the most promising startup of the Demo Day, while sponsoring two fellowships in Artificial Intelligence for the upcoming 2018 Founder Institute Montreal cohort.
"The Founder Institute has been a driving force for empowering innovative startups in Montreal, and we are thrilled to put our efforts together in a mission that has always been at the core of our very own DNA" - explains Guillaume Fillière, head of OVH Digital Launch Pad . "Montreal's rich and disruptive entrepreneurial ecosystem is a perfect match for our startup support program, and we can't wait to see the great things that will emerge from this new partnership."
Once an ambitious startup, OVH is now one of top unicorns and No.1 cloud provider in Europe. Launched two years ago, the Digital Launch Pad program highlights the central role of innovation in the company's philosophy. Through this worldwide program, 1500 startups from 120 countries have benefited from free cloud products, tailored support with a solutions architect and visibility through events all around the world.
"The founding principle of Founder Institute is that you can build a vibrant, active startup community in every city around the world. The companies launched with us in Montreal will change, if successful, the way everything works for us in our society." says Sergio A. Escobar, Managing Director of the Montreal Founder Institute . "We are asking the help from everybody to build a powerful Montreal ecosystem that sustains itself. It's time to end the vicious cycle of Canadian companies leaving to the United States for growth and better funding opportunities."
The companies received feedback and guidance from some of Montreal's top startup mentors, including Mike Cegelski, Beth Thouin, LP Maurice, Lorne Lieberman, Marc Alloul, Mauro Repacci, Raffi Tchakmakjian, Phil Cutler, Danial Jameel, and many more (http://fi.co/mentors/Montreal). In addition, the Montreal companies gain access to the Founder Institute's Global Network of over 2,300 companies and 7,500+ mentors spanning across 150+ cities and six continents.
