French Tech Event in Toronto Highlights AI Innovation and Privacy
On May 28, 2024, Toronto’s iconic Casa Loma played host to a landmark event organized by La French Tech, drawing over 500 attendees. The gathering was a celebration of technological collaboration between France and Canada, with a significant focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and data privacy. The event's centerpiece was two thought-provoking panels: "Unlocking AI's Potential: Industry Insights & Applications" and "Guardians of Privacy: Navigating the AI Era Safely." On the panel, Saba Zuberi (TD), Mark Taylor (Lactalis), and Brandon Rufino (Sanofi) provided a comprehensive overview of how AI is being leveraged across different sectors.
Saba Zuberi highlighted TD’s innovative use of AI in the financial sector to enhance customer experiences and streamline operations, emphasizing the need for trustworthy AI with robust governance. Brandon Rufino detailed Sanofi’s use of AI to accelerate drug discovery and optimize clinical trials, calling for collaboration to address regulatory challenges without stifling innovation and ensure ethical use in healthcare. Mark Taylor (Lactalis) highlighted the efficiency gains that AI brings to supply chain management and forecasting, resulting in tangible benefits for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
