Press Release
Event: OVH/Fibrenoire cloud partnership Launch in Montreal on June 14th
2016
Press Release
Canada
At a time of increasing cloud adoption by Canadian businesses (hybrid cloud expenses expected to exceed $1billion in 2016*), the need to deliver personalized and secure Infrastructure as a Servic e (IaaS) solutions is becoming more and more urgent. Keeping this in mind, OVH and Fibrenoire have been developing a joint service offering for 3 years, since OVH’s implementation in Canada, to support their customers in deploying their infrastructure and fiber optic connectivity.
Specialized in related fields, both companies distribute the roles effectively amongst themselves: OVH provides cloud resources (dedicated servers, public cloud, dedicated cloud, VPS) hosted in its Beauharnois data center (south of Montreal) with a capacity of 360,000 servers, while Fibrenoire interconnects with fiber optics and relies on its network of 4,500 km and proven expertise in the approach of consulting engineering. This synergy continues to convince professionals with the need to virtualize their infrastructure using a private and secure network.
Based on this reality, OVH offers Dedicated Connect, a solution allowing to directly connect an enterprise’s network to its outsourced infrastructure without ever having to transit via public Internet. Fibrenoire then interconnects the customer’s network to one of OVH’s 32 points of presence (PoPs) including one in Montreal, and soon one in Toronto.
“In each country where OVH develops its activities, it is essential for us to work closely with partners like Fibrenoire who share the same passion and allow us to connect directly to our customers” , says Cedric Combey, VP of Sales and Marketing at OVH Canada. “Our complimentary technologies lead us to refer each other clients who may have an interest in our combined offering.”
Pierre-Luc Charbonneau, Director of Engineering and Special Projects at Fibrenoire is very proud of “this unique synergy in the market of interconnectivity in Quebec that allows our clients to grow at the same pace as their infrastructure and envision their cloud computing future.”
*an expense that will make the cloud model dominant in Canada within 2 to 3 years according to forecasts by IDC in December 2015.
