OVHcloud, a global player and Europe’s leading cloud provider operating in Canada for the past 10 years, has been approved by the Quebec government's cloud broker and is now part of RISQ's (Quebec Scientific Information Network) catalog of cloud providers. This partnership allows RISQ to offer the OVHcloud Connect hybrid connection solution to the education and research organizations it serves. This solution provides access to a 100% private and secure network and on demand cloud resources, hosted in Canada in a transparent environment that is immune to any extraterritorial legislation.

A key player in the field of education and research in Quebec, RISQ's primary mission is to develop and operate a private high capacity broadband network to provide the organizations it serves with information access services and advanced network security solutions.

More freedom in a secure and reliable environment

Built with hybrid cloud strategies in mind, the OVHcloud Connect technology provides a quick and easy way to set up a private link between RISQ's infrastructure network and OVHcloud's data centres. Its users will benefit from a guaranteed bandwidth (from 200 Mbps to 5 Gbps) and will be able to interconnect from the vRack all OVHcloud services (private cloud, public cloud, bare metal servers) via a level 3 link to the RISQ network.

Powered by open, reversible and interoperable solutions, the OVHcloud model is also predictable and has no activation fees: the user chooses the bandwidth he needs but will not be charged for incoming or outgoing traffic. In addition, OVHcloud's Canadian data centre meets industry-leading standards in terms of security and data sovereignty, safe from any extraterritorial legal injunction.

"We are pleased to have entered into this connectivity partnership agreement with OVHcloud. This dedicated, high-speed, low-latency network connection, located in Quebec, between RISQ and OVHcloud will be offered to all organizations served by RISQ through our Cloud Access service". said Richard Lacombe, RISQ's President and CEO.

"Designed to support hybrid and multi-cloud strategies in a transparent and sovereign environment, our OVHcloud Connect solution ideally meets RISQ's standards for performance and security. OVHcloud is proud to team up with a leader in connectivity and information access serving education across Quebec." said Estelle Azemard, Vice President Americas at OVHcloud.
