On March 20 in Montreal, OVHcloud was awarded the “Réussite Française de l’Année” (Outstanding French Success in Canada) in the “Large Group” category at the annual gala hosted by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Canada (CCIFC).

This recognition marks a defining moment in OVHcloud’s Canadian journey: a story that began in 2011 with the opening of the company’s first branch outside of Europe, in Montreal. Just one year later, the Beauharnois data centre was launched: today one of the largest and most eco-efficient in the industry. Over the past 13 years, Canada has become one of the Group’s three global hubs, now home to 250 employees, 90,000 servers, and the full value chain of OVHcloud expertise –from R&D and production to customer support and sales– operating side by side in a single location.

The Beauharnois site remains one of just two OVHcloud production units worldwide, alongside Croix in France, offering strategic autonomy and the flexibility to meet the highest delivery standards in a fully trusted environment. This award also highlights the recent expansion into Cambridge, Ontario, with the opening of a second Canadian site to bring added resilience and choice to clients in one of North America’s most dynamic tech ecosystems.

Selected ahead of prestigious finalists such as Veolia and TCI+ (Vinci Energies), this recognition reinforces OVHcloud’s long-term impact and credibility in Canada. It underlines the company’s growing influence in key conversations around digital sovereignty and sustainability.

This year’s CCIFC gala, focused on environmental, social, and technological transitions, strongly echoed the mission OVHcloud carries forward: enabling organisations to innovate freely, securely, and sustainably. At a time when digital sovereignty and strategic autonomy are in the spotlight, the ability to produce locally, ensure transparency, and maintain control over data is not just a differentiator: it’s a strategic imperative.

Pride in this milestone runs deep across Canadian teams. From operations and engineering to communications and partnerships, this achievement reflects years of dedication, technical excellence, and shared purpose. It also stands as a symbol of strengthened transatlantic collaboration –with more to come. The journey continues!
