Confidential Computing as a Service: German Startup MADANA Adds Its Patented Solution To OVHcloud's Ecosystem

Cologne, Germany – October 28, 2020 – OVHcloud, the leading European cloud provider, and German cyber security company MADANA are joining forces to provide businesses with a powerful hosted confidential computing solution that completes the lifecycle of application and data security. The joint offering will be the first of its kind in Europe, directly combining cloud computing services with confidential computing to provide the safest readily available cloud computing solution on the European market.

Founded in 2017, Berlin-based MADANA leverages a patented technology deeply rooted in extensive research and development to provide customers with the technical capacity to encrypt applications and data during runtime and offer previously unavailable security and privacy features for developers and software users. While data has historically been encrypted at rest, in storage and in transit across the network, the startup’s confidential computing solution MADANA CORE provides the cutting-edge ability to protect data in use through an impenetrable hardware-based Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) that secures customers’ most valuable digital assets like a digital safe. This secure enclave can have different environments reflecting different customer needs, either created by MADANA or by users themselves.

Through this partnership, the MADANA CORE solution will be offered in different product variants hosted by OVHcloud, including a multi-tenancy web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering on an easily available and elastic infrastructure with a subscription-based billing as well as a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering that provides a framework for developers to create fully customized secure and trusted applications with limited management responsibilities in the cloud.
